Forgot master password
Aegirex encrypts your secrets end-to-end in your browser. The server never knows your master password or your private key - it cannot email it to you.
Why no "reset password"?
Your master password derives the key that encrypts your OpenPGP private key. If we could reset it remotely, your vault would not be truly server-side encrypted. That is the price of real confidentiality.
Your options
-
1. A device is still unlocked
On a device where your Aegirex session is still open and your vault unlocked, open your settings: you can set a new sign-in password and a new passphrase for your private key there. The passphrase re-encrypts your private key in the browser; your secrets do not need to be re-encrypted.
-
2. You belong to a team
A team administrator can re-share team secrets to a new key pair. Personal secrets remain unreachable.
-
3. Start over
If none of the options above are possible, you can request account deletion and create a new one. Your personal secrets will be permanently lost - this is precisely what end-to-end encryption guarantees.
Did you enable recovery?
If you enabled the recovery procedure in your settings, enter your email to start.
The file you downloaded during activation.
Your new private key file has been re-encrypted with your new master password. Download it and replace your old `.asc`.
